Started the second day at Camp Hiawatha with pancakes, flag raising and a walk around the bog. Stopped at the Ecology Center to check the weather at the Weather Shoe. The guys said it looked like snow. Haha.
The trail crossed blog, along the ridge and out on the lake. A beautiful winter walk.
The first day of the camp out at Camp Hiawatha. Raised the flag, settled in the cabins, started a fire in the dining hall. Had time to walk around the camp a bit, the Scouts played cards and the older patrol made dinner. Had spaghetti with sausage and garlic bread.
The Scouts made sugar cutout cookies and decorated them with holiday candy pieces. The followed a recipe to make the dough. Mrs. Bennetts helped with rolling out the dough. Almost all of the cookies were gone by the time the meeting was done. Merry Christmas Scouts!
Our Scouts were invited back to help usher at the launching of the USS St. Louis Litteral Combat Ship at Marinette Marine. They handed out programs at the entrance to the building. They then walked out to watch the launching of the ship. The met with Congressman Jack Bergman who was one of the speakers at the event and with the head of the shipyard. She gave the guys medallions marking the event as a thank you.
